The OC's skanking pranksters, Reel Big Fish will return to the Grove of Anaheim along with Birmingham, England’s ska pioneers The English Beat on Sunday, August 2 at 8:00 PM. Supporting both acts is Australia’s The Super Villians.
Reel Big Fish is on tour supporting its latest release Fame, Fortune and Fornication which was released in January. The compilation album is comprised of cover songs from the likes of John Mellencamp, Poison, The Eagles and Tom Petty. The group is also touring in anticipation of its new concert DVD Reel Big Fish Live! In Concert! which hits shelves July 21. The performance footage was taped before a sold-out, hometown crowd at the Grove of Anaheim on January 4, 2009.
By December of 1979, The English Beat were riding high in the UK charts with their first single, a smoking remake of the classic Smokey Robinson tune "Tears of a Clown". Over the course of the next five years The Beat toured relentlessly and released three studio albums: I Just Can't Stop It, Wh'appen and Special Beat Service. Their classic hits include as "Mirror in the Bathroom", "Save it for Later", "I Confess", "Stand Down Margaret" and their serene cover of Andy William's "Can't Get Used To Losing You.”
