Astronaut as Filmmaker

The presentation will feature astronauts, including Commander Scott Altman, who recently returned from the STS-125 shuttle mission to the Hubble Space Telescope. They will talk about the challenges and revelations of filming in outer space.

The shuttle’s crew was trained at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston to operate the digital and IMAX 3D cameras used to film the historic Hubble servicing mission, considered by many to be some of the most challenging work ever undertaken in space.
