I couldn’t write about fried chicken in O.C. without mentioning Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. I’ve had the fried chicken here twice: takeout brought into the office by my editor, and at The Orange County Register’s 100th birthday all-company celebratory fest where I uninhibitedly gorged on fried chicken and pie, got severely jolted on several rides, and descended into bowels of hell.
