The city beach spans 3.5 miles from Seapoint Drive to Beach Boulevard. Nearly 8 million people enjoy this beach, known officially as "Surf CityUSA."Once a sleepy beach town, the city is now a major destination for tourists with several high-end hotels. There are food and rental concessions, volleyball and fire rings. An outdoor amphitheatre north of the pier offers occasional summer concerts. Dogs are permitted between Golden West Street and Seapoint Drive. A 2,400-space parking lot is available, along with metered parking on Pacific Coast Highway and nearby streets.
