Featuring wines of the Howell Mountain Appellation in Napa Valley
Here's a chance to taste the wines of the Howell Mountain appellation high above Napa Valley. Known and highly respected for its Cabernets and Zinfandels, the Howell Mountain appellation was the first to be recognized as a distinct growing region within Napa Valley. Its boundary line, the 1400 ft. elevation line, represents the boundary of the fog pattern which impacts the climate and, by extension, the grapes.
Uniformly excellent, these wines are mostly made at family wineries in tiny, hard-to-obtain quantities. Many are only available at the winery or in very limited distribution. This tasting is for members of the wine trade to taste the offerings from this appellation and also for the public to come and enjoy some of their favorites and find new favorites. Approximately 25 wineries will be pouring their Howell Mountain labeled wines.
