Founded in 1969, by artists Roderick Sykes and Rozzell Sykes, the Village is one of the oldest free arts organizations in Los Angeles. St. Elmo Village is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization known worldwide for its commitment to educating and encouraging the artist within each of us. The Village has served the greater Los Angeles community as a free arts enrichment center, public garden, gallery space, and public meeting place. A "Live, Work, Teach" space, St. Elmo has been cited as a mecca for literary, visual and performance art, and as a green-space model for Los Angele City and urban elevation.
