TK Burgers

"Secret sauce" and "secret spices" make TK Burger's burgers a not-so-well-kept secret to Newport natives (and, probably natives in Huntington and Costa Mesa, where TK also has locations). Though it's not facing the beach, and thus not as immediately available to tourists, there are always hip, beach-going teens and twenty-somethings hanging out eating TK's signature "burger bargain special" (a burger and fries) for less than $5. Making food that's fresh, healthy and unique is a big deal to TK Burger, who outfits each burger with bell peppers and red onions along with the usual fixings. The places looks simultaneously trendy and hole-in-the-wall, with album covers on the ceiling, surfing pictures on the walls and a neon rim to the menu board. Go a little more high class and order an ahi or ribeye steak burger, or make your sandwich into a lettuce wrap for 50 cents more.
