California Whale Watching-Newport Landing

With the nutrient rich waters and deep underwater canyons just outside the mouth of Newport Harbor, great amounts of marine life congregate to feed. Grey Whales, dolphins, seal lions, porpoises, harbor seals, and marine birds are just some of the many creatures that a typical Newport Landing whale watching tour may encounter. Unlike Los Angeles Harbor, Long Beach Harbor, and Dana Point Harbor; Newport Harbor is surrounded by deep nutrient rich waters and it is quite common to find Gray whales just outside Newport Harbor's entrance. With the pristine Laguna Beach coastline just south of the harbor and ample coastline along Huntington Beach, odds are very high that grey whales and dolphin are both viewed on a single whale watching trip.Newport Landing offers three trips Monday thru Friday and three trips on the Weekends/Holidays. Each cruise is roughly 2 ½ hours long and refreshments and snacks are available on the ship's snack bar.
