Born and raised in Northwest Indiana and educated in Miami,
Florida; Ron Dziubla now calls the Noho Arts District home.
A sideman for most of his 20 plus year career, he lives a
sort of dual life, touring and recording with the hottest
names in Latin pop music-—Ricky Martin, Chayanne, Franco de
Vita, Marc Anthony, and Alejandro Fernandez-—and the
coolest names in the blues, rock, and roots music world—-
Royal Crown Revue, Sextus, Janiva Magness, Deke Dickerson,
James Intveld, Kid Ramos, Los Fabulocos, Los Straitjackets,
and Rick Holmstrom.
With the formation of his latest project, Ron’s saxophone
and writing takes center stage. His saxophone has been
described as “paint peeling blasts of sax” and “skulks
around dark corners like a Raymond Chandler villain
searching for an easy mark.” His compositions have been
described as “cinema-esque” and “the perfect vehicle for
his soaring saxophone.”
Cinematic, bluesy, smoky, screaming, raw…the antithesis of
smooth. One critic said, “Fans of love jazz need not
apply.” Another said, “Dziubla conjures an array of moods
and images from his barrel-chested saxes.” Made up by the
finest of LA musicians, the Ron Dziubla Group features his
saxophone—in black and white, not color.
