Animal Scores, A Dance Performance

Dancers and movement artists will perform Animal Scores, a series of movements designed by Fritz Haeg, an artist in the exhibition Intelligent Design: Interspecies Art. They will be re-enacting the written scores by twelve New York City movement artists who were inspired by one of the twelve native New York City animal clients for twelve contiguous spaces near the Whitney Museum of American Art, where Animal Scores was first presented. The animals include Wood Duck, Big Brown Bat, Purple Martin, Northern Flying Squirrel, Beaver, Bobcat, Eastern Tiger Salamander, Opossum, Eastern Mud Turtle, Barn Owl, Mason Bee, and Bald Eagle. They will also be researching animals in proximity to Sweeney Art Gallery and creating new animal scores based on their research.
